Alan Shearer is an English football pundit and former professional footballer, widely regarded as one of the greatest strikers in Premier League history. He remains the league’s all-time top goalscorer with 260 goals, a record that has become part of the competition’s identity.

Shearer was named FWA Player of the Year in 1994 and PFA Player of the Year in 1995, and in 1996 finished third in both the Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player of the Year awards - recognition that placed him among the most elite players on the planet.

In 2004, he was selected by Pelé for the FIFA 100 list of the world’s greatest living players, and in 2021 he became one of the first two inductees into the Premier League Hall of Fame.
