Gary Lineker is an English sports broadcaster, former professional footballer, and Co-Founder of Goalhanger - the UK’s largest independent podcast producer and the biggest outside the US. Widely regarded as one of the greatest English players of his generation, he remains the only footballer to have been top goalscorer in England with three clubs - Leicester City, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur - and enjoyed a celebrated spell with Barcelona, winning the Copa del Rey and the European Cup Winners’ Cup.

Across a 16-year professional career, Lineker scored 331 goals in 654 competitive games, never receiving a single yellow or red card. He won the 1986 World Cup Golden Boot, finishing his England career with 80 caps and 48 goals - still one of the country’s best goals-to-games ratios - and continues to hold the record for the most England goals scored at World Cups.

Following his retirement in 1994, Lineker became one of Britain’s most recognisable broadcasters. His media career began at the BBC, where he spent 26 years presenting Match of the Day - the longest tenure of any host - and fronted the corporation’s live football coverage, including multiple FIFA World Cups.

Host of the world’s leading football podcast The Rest Is Football, Lineker will also front ITV’s new primetime entertainment series The Box. His long-running partnership with Walkers Crisps is the UK’s longest uninterrupted celebrity endorsement, active since 1995.
